Responsibilities of Standing Committees

Budget Committee

Reviews the budget and the latest audit.

Makes budget, dues, and fee recommendations to the Executive Council.

Prepares the budget, in conjunction with the Executive Director, for review and approval by the Executive Council.

Reports to the Executive Council.


CS Committee

Assists in implementing policies and procedures related to services provided to local chapters and their members.

Aids in developing new chapters and enhancing current chapter activities.

Reports to the Executive Council.


Communications Committee

Reviews print, non-print, and electronic materials of the Society.

Analyzes various KDP publications to practices in the educational field and in comparison to information needs of the membership.

Reports to the Executive Council.


Constitution and Bylaws Committee

Studies written proposals for amending the Constitution and Bylaws.

Prepares a report of recommendations preceding the Convocation.

Presents the recommendation report to delegates for action at Convocation.

Reports to the Executive Council.


Membership Committee

Recommends and assists in implementing policies and procedures to enhance and increase membership.

Increases involvement of members in Kappa Delta Pi.

Assists in developing new types of membership and enhancing current programs for members.

Reports to the Executive Council.

Nominations Committee

Solicits, from chapters, nominations for officers of the Society no later than seven (7) months before the end of the current biennium.

Receives written nominations from chapters no later than five (5) months before the end of the current biennium.

Prepares an election slate, including biographical data on each candidate. The election slate provides:

 

No fewer than two (2) and no more than four (4) candidates for each of the offices of President-Elect, Professional/Alumni Representative, Member-at-Large Representative, and Student Representative.

 

No fewer than two (2) and no more than eight (8) candidates for the offices of Vice-President.

 

At least one (1) candidate for the office of Laureate Representative.

Submits the election slate and ballot to all active members no later than three (3) months before the end of the current biennium.

Verifies and reports official results of the election to the Executive Council.

Recommends names of members for the President to consider as new committee appointees.

Reports to the Executive Council.

Nomination forms, as well as application forms for serving on a standing committee, are posted on the KDP Web site in November of the second year of the biennium.
