INSTRUCTIONS: Read these first and then click the link at the bottom to complete the report.

The Chapter Annual Report format has been simplified to include only the most pertinent information needed at this time. All the financial information requested on this report is required.

This document contains instructions for the Annual Chapter Financial Report and the IRS E-Postcard. Both are required for the report to be complete. Chapters not submitting both reports may be in violation of IRS regulations and are at risk for suspension from Kappa Delta Pi.

The Chapter Counselor received a letter, as part of the Chapter Rebate packet (mailed April 11, 2008), with information needed to complete this report. If you need another copy of the letter, please contact your Chapter Consultant at mcs@kdp.org.

Information You Will Need to Complete the Financial Report
1. Beginning Balance—Total money in the account at the beginning of the fiscal year (July 1, 2007). Should be the same as the Ending Balance from the 2006–2007 Annual Report.

Please Note: If your Beginning Balance amount is different than what was reported as the 2006–2007 Ending Balance, you must submit a copy of the chapter’s general ledger report
or a June 2007 account statement from your bank or university to verify the change.
2. Total Income—The sum of all monies received by the chapter for the fiscal year (July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008) including, for example, fund-raisers, local dues, and initiation fees. Be sure to add in any interest accrued on the account.
3. Total Expenses—The sum of all monies expended by the chapter during the fiscal year (July 1, 2007 through June 30, 2008) including, for example, initiation expenses, honor cords, and supplies for fund-raisers. Be sure to include any fees charged by the bank.
4. Ending Balance—Total money in the account at the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2008). Ending balance = (Beginning Balance + Total Income) – Total Expenses
5. Annual Local Dues—The amount your chapter charges in local dues to support chapter activities, ceremonies, and award programs. Do not include National Dues or one-time initiation fees.

Please Note: If the chapter has changed the amount of Local Dues, you will need to submit a copy of the chapter bylaws or minutes with this report as verification before the dues amount can be adjusted at KDP Headquarters. If the bylaws or minutes are not submitted, Headquarters will continue to collect the previous amount when members renew, which could have a direct impact on the amount of rebate your chapter receives.
6. A copy of your chapter’s financial ledger for July 1, 2007 - June 30, 2008 should accompany this report.
