Creating a Positive Chapter Experience

The experience members receive in their first year is a strong factor in determining whether they will renew their membership in Kappa Delta Pi. Most of our KDP members join at the collegiate level, so the experience they receive through their chapter determines their view on the organization as a whole. Therefore, having a good chapter experience is crucial in member retention. KDP's mission is to support and recognize outstanding educators, but how can we help support the top teachers in the field if they leave the organization after their first year?

A chapter should always be thinking of new ways to improve because the world of education never stops changing. KDP has observed that once a chapter stops moving forward it begins to fall backward; therefore, the chapter needs to keep pushing ahead so its members continually benefit from their membership. We know it can be difficult to think of new program ideas that will work for your chapter, so the Chapter Services Department has created this area to provide a library of ideas from many different KDP chapters.
