Chapters are the heart of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society in Education. For many educators, the university or college chapter is their first experience with Kappa Delta Pi. Currently approximately 600 chapters worldwide make up the core of the Society.

Everything begins with the chapter— from impressions of the organization to a member’s involvement and growth. Therefore, dynamic chapters lead to a vibrant and strong Society.

Accredited colleges and universities can become involved with Kappa Delta Pi in two ways: through a formal institutional chapter or through the KDP Liaison Program. Both options bring distinction and recognition to a university or college campus and its teacher education program. KDP also provides special support for chapters at community colleges and two-year colleges.
How can a Kappa Delta Pi chapter benefit your college or university teacher education program?
  A KDP collegiate chapter:

Recognizes top performing students  and their high academic achievement;

Enhances the professional standing and development of participating students;

Helps student members connect with practicing educators and administrators who are current members;

Supports students by giving them access to top educational resources and a professional community as early as their sophomore year;

Gives students leadership and service opportunities;

Connects like-minded students to one another and their institution, even after graduation;

Assists you with NCATE certification;

Supports teacher retention efforts;

Provides resources for career placement;

Opens opportunities for student and faculty research, publication in double-blind, peer-refereed journals, and to present at international conferences; and

Recognizes faculty members who serve as counselors.
