E-mail is cheap, quick,
and easy. Compile a list of e-mail addresses of all active and inactive
members. A complete membership roster with e-mail addresses can be
obtained on the Members-Only
Web Portal. E-mail is a great way to get the message out to everyone
at once; however, it is impersonal. Also, e-mail can be deleted easily
or ignored. You may want to consider using other ways to communicate
with members, such as personal phone calls, newsletters, or bulletin
board postings. |

Web site. The most important aspect
of a good chapter Web site is to make sure the information is accurate
and updated! An updated Web site can promote events and meetings, provide
contact information for officers, and remind members about scholarship
deadlines.

Paper (or electronic) newsletter.
Newsletters or flyers are traditional ways of promoting events, but
still very effective. Paper newsletters give members something they
can keep and read. A complete membership roster with mailing addresses
can be obtained on the Members-Only
Web Portal.

Personal phone call. Though newsletters
and e-mails are great, there is nothing like a phone call to provide
that personal touch! Calling to invite a few members to an activity
will increase your active membership. Divide the list of members to
call among the officers. More than likely, at least one person who
is called will come to the next meeting. A personal invitation makes
individual members feel valued and welcomed at chapter activities. |

Social media. Be part of the social media movement and share chapter events, photos, links, and other information through tools such as Facebook and Twitter. Social media adds fun to your communications and helps you connect with members easily in the manner they naturally communicate.
