Manage Your Chapter Member Relations Providing an experience that keeps them coming back |
Good Member Relations = Continuous Participation + Steady Membership Renewal = Happy Members |
| Member relations are a vital component
of chapter management. Without strong member relations, your
fellow chapter members could be unhappy and dissatisfied with
their experience in the Society. They may feel a lack of support
and, as a result, may not participate in chapter activities,
may chose to sever all ties or, worse yet, may join another organization
to find what they feel they are missing.
Member Relations require a tireless effort to recruit and induct potential members, retain existing members, recognize members for their dedication to the chapter, and reclaim inactive members. In addition, there may be a special initiative, such as Community Outreach, that focuses on educating and recruiting educators and administrators in the community into the Society. This effort is headed by the Membership Chair and Membership Committee and is done through a close collaborative effort with the Vice President, Program Committee, chapter officers, and committees overall. |
