Chapter: Eta Iota at Edinboro University, PA
Level: Moderate
How to:
| 1. | Invite speakers to talk about different aspects of children’s literature and how it can be incorporated into the classroom (i.e., from area literacy organizations, state literacy coordinators, etc.). |
| 2. | Set up several workshops throughout the event. |
| 3. | Determine if and who will be the keynote speaker during lunch. |
| 4. | If your guest speaker is an author, arrange for him/her to take part in a book signing. |
Add a twist:
| • | Set up vendor booths for representatives from various educational corporations (i.e., Troll, Scholastic, etc.) for chapter fund-raising during the event; |
| • | For smaller events, invite a local reading specialist or English teacher to speak on current children’s literature topics. |
