Children’s Literature Conference

Chapter: Eta Iota at Edinboro University, PA
Level: Moderate
How to:

1. Invite speakers to talk about different aspects of children’s literature and how it can be incorporated into the classroom (i.e., from area literacy organizations, state literacy coordinators, etc.).
2. Set up several workshops throughout the event.
3. Determine if and who will be the keynote speaker during lunch.
4. If your guest speaker is an author, arrange for him/her to take part in a book signing.

Add a twist:

Set up vendor booths for representatives from various educational corporations (i.e., Troll, Scholastic, etc.) for chapter fund-raising during the event;
For smaller events, invite a local reading specialist or English teacher to speak on current children’s literature topics.
