Running a successful chapter takes dedication from officers, excellent planning, involved members, an element of fun, and great resources. A chapter’s success is directly related to the time and effort put into preparing and training the chapter officers. The officers need a clear understanding of chapter operations—including goal-setting, action-planning, budgeting, and involving members through the chapter committee structure. These are some of the most significant tasks the chapter accomplishes. Kappa Delta Pi provides a variety of resources to counselors, officers, and committee members. These are available in print, online, and in person. The Regional Chapter Coordinators are always ready to help answer any questions about these resources or other questions that may arise. Communication is key for maximum member involvement and contributes to chapter success. Keep members informed of meetings and chapter activities. Newsletters, fliers, and regular e-mails not only inform members about what is happening, but also why they must attend chapter events and meetings. Use the communication resources to stay in touch and give your chapter a KDP identity. Use the various chapter forms for additional communication with members, KDP Headquarters, and others. |
