Provide potential chartering date, time, and location to the Chapter Services Assistant.
A  KDP Executive Council member or other KDP representative will present the chapter's official charter at your chapter's installation ceremony. By submitting your potential dates and times at least three months in advance, your chapter is ensured to have a KDP representative attend the official chartering ceremony.

Conduct a recruitment initiative and invite eligible education students to join.
Refer to Initiation Guide and the Steps for Initiating Members for complete guidelines and suggestions that will help you to prepare for recruiting new members.

Mail installation ceremony invitations to new members, parents, and institution faculty and administration.

Create and mail invitations to the chartering ceremony to all new members and their families. It is also beneficial to invite college administration and faculty to celebrate the foundation of your Kappa Delta Pi chapter.

Report new members.
Report all new members to Kappa Delta Pi through the Members-Only Web Portal. Chapters are encouraged to induct 50 percent of all eligible education students into the new chapter. After reporting, the new chapter sends a check for all initiation fees to KDP Headquarters. Charter members of the new chapter receive a membership packet containing a charter member certificate, Creed, and an “Essential Guide for New Members.” If you require assistance when reporting members, please contact your Regional Chapter Coordinator.

Conduct installation ceremony.
Conduct the installation ceremony of your new chapter and induct its first members. At this ceremony, your charter is officially presented to your college president or education program administrator, along with the initiation of new members. The Kappa Delta Pi representative at your ceremony presents the charter and serves as the guest speaker.

Refer to the Initiation Guidebook and the Ceremonies and Rituals Booklet for guidelines and suggestions to help you prepare an impressive ceremony.
