| To establish a Kappa Delta Pi chapter, an institution must meet the following four general qualifications for installation: |
| 1. | Have at least one faculty or staff member of the institution to serve as a chapter counselor. This person must have or attain membership in Kappa Delta Pi. |
| 2. | Have support from the institution and appropriate education program administrators for establishing a Kappa Delta Pi chapter on campus. |
| 3. | Maintain or have earned accreditation, for both the institution and the education program, through a professional national or regional organization. |
| 4. | Have a minimum institutional enrollment of 1,000 students, with a minimum of 150 students enrolled in the education program. |
| Special requirements for International Chapters |
| 1. | Chapters may be established in an educational unit that is integral to the college or university and that grants a baccalaureate or higher degree on completion of the teaching program or is in an accredited school according to local laws and requirements. |
| 2. | Chapters must provide evidence of endorsement and support from the appropriate university and school of education administrators for the establishment of the chapter as part of the application process. |
| 3. | Only colleges or universities holding an accreditation from a recognized accrediting body are eligible to host a chapter. If there is no accreditation system in place in the potential chapter’s country, evidence of the program’s quality and school governing body must be provided. |
| 4. | Chapters also may be established within a school system or educational body whose mission and standards are compatible with KDP’s standards. These applications will be handled on a case-by-case basis. |
