Chapters of Kappa Delta Pi, International Honor Society, represent the core of the Society through which members can readily connect with other members. For many educators, the university or college chapter is their first experience with Kappa Delta Pi. Currently more than 600 chapters worldwide make up the core of the Society.

Everything begins with the chapter— from impressions of the organization to a member’s involvement and growth. Therefore, dynamic chapters lead to a vibrant and strong Society.

Through national programs and expectations set forth by the KDP, chapters develop opportunities for recognition, service, and leadership for their active members who are committed to advancing excellence in education. By being involved in their local chapter, members gain professional development experiences, leadership skills, service and networking opportunities, as well as resources and support to assist them as they step into their careers.

Chapters are affiliates of the Society. Individuals within affiliate chapters hold membership in the Society as well as their chapter or group. Accredited colleges and universities may become involved with KDP in two ways: by establishing a formal chapter or serving as a liaison. Both options bring distinction and recognition to your campus. Additionally practicing educators may join KDP and connect with other members in a Professional Chapter through their city, building, or school district, or they may opt to form an informal chapter called Chalk Talk Café.

Collegiate Chapters—for undergraduate and graduate students studying education at a traditional 4-year institution

Community College Chapters—for undergraduate and graduate students studying education at a community college or other 2-year institution

KDP Liaison Program—for students studying education at a university without a structured chapter; university directly initiates students into KDP

International Chapters —for students, faculty, or practicing educators who live or work outside of the United States

Professional Chapters—for practicing educators of all ages who live or work in the same geographic area (Alumni Chapters, District/Building Chapters, City Chapters) 

Chalk Talk Café—for practicing educators within 10 years of their college graduation (less structured than a Professional Chapter)
