Not quite ready to start a chapter on campus?
Consider becoming part of the KDP Liaison Program.

Because of time commitments on campus, the KDP Liaison Program offers an option that acknowledges students for their scholarship and connects them with Kappa Delta Pi professional development benefits. All you need is a faculty member willing to assist in providing information for the initial contact with students.

Setting up a KDP Liaison:

Complete the Memorandum of Understanding, and Institution Information Form and mail to KDP.

Once we receive this information, we will be in touch with the designated faculty member to obtain the list of eligible students to invite— you can view our Membership Eligibility Standards here.

The faculty member will need to work with the College/University Registrar to obtain the names, addresses, and e-mails of those students who are eligible for membership and send them to the Director of Membership in an Excel spreadsheet. To assist you with this request, a sample letter to the Registrar is available that details the format of the file as well as our understanding of and compliance with FERPA guidelines.

KDP will contact the students by mail with an invitation to join, follow up with an e-mail, and collect the membership forms and dues from those who accept.  After the deadline for sending in the membership forms, we will send the faculty contact a list of the members, and we will send the member a certificate, membership card, Creed and membership information booklet. We also will invite them to attend an online orientation so that they can see all the benefits they receive as a member.

Each semester we will be in contact with the faculty member to repeat the process. If, at any point, there is interest in starting a chapter, we can help make the transition from a Liaison to a Collegiate/Institutional Chapter.

E-mail the KDP Membership Department Membership if you are interested becoming a part of the Liaison Program or you have questions about the program.
