The KDP Leadership Initiative is a signature program on leadership development created to engage educators at all levels in defining themselves as leaders, connecting with others, and becoming transformational leaders dedicated to bettering the world through education. The KDP Leadership Initiative defines a teacher-leader by qualities and skills demonstrated by the individual, as well as the application of those qualities and skills to make a difference in the world. iLead is the first in a series of various leadership programs and activities that KDP is rolling out over the next five years. Geared toward undergraduate and graduate students, iLead follows an interactive institute format in training them to be teacher-leaders. Participants will learn practical leadership skills and strategies to increase their capacity for making a difference in the lives of their students, within their school building, and in education overall. As an additional KDP national meeting, iLead also provides an opportunity for members within a region to connect with one another face to face. Through this page, iLead participants can continue their learning after the conference and network with fellow participants; the conference itself is one step in a progressive journey toward becoming effective teacher-leaders. No one travels that path alone. KDP and its member community provide support and resources along the way.
