I TEACH Conference at Adelphi University
March 25, 2006

Host chapter, Nu Nu, had plenty of support from officers (past and present) who volunteered their time and effort to make the conference a success.
Registration was swamped. Many people arrived before the 8:30 a.m. registration time.
Presenters took advantage of the pre-conference time to network with other educators.
Participants used the pre-conference time to read about the many workshops available throughout the day.
A popular workshop was one that focused on innovative uses of literacy in the classroom.

The “Spinning Your Plates with Grace and Style” workshop discussed practical and effective strategies to help balance personal and professional responsibilities.
“The Month of September” targeted first-year teachers by providing strategies to help them prepare for their first month in an elementary school.

Keynote speaker Jason Kamras, the 2005 National Teacher of the Year, inspired the I TEACH crowd. His speech was phenomenal.
Discussion panels on interviewing and the first year of teaching concluded the conference.
