I Teach
Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville

Future and current teachers braved the gusty winds and blowing snow
for an uplifting day of professional development.

It was easy to get into the workshop Green Eggs and Agriculture. Participants learned about free teaching materials available at www.agintheclassroom.org.

Storyteller (and SIUE professor) Rudolph Wilson showed teachers how to make history come alive for students.

(left to right) Southern Illinois State University at Edwardsville Host Chapter Lambda Theta members enjoyed their first I Teach Conference; Keynote speaker Debra J. Shrout, Director of Columbia College–St. Louis, shared her love of teaching and the importance of having critical friends on the journey; Kathleen Weber, an Illinois Teacher of the Year, showed how to make learning fun through puppetry.

There’s nothing like hearing it from the trenches. Everything I Wish I Had Known before My First Year of Teaching, presented by 6 beginning teachers, was very popular.
