Would you like to find a place to reconnect with old friends, meet new people, or make new professional contacts? We’ve got it! Regional Socials are the place to be! Come to the Regional Socials on the first night of Convo to meet others in your region. Based and developed on your feedback, the Regional Socials are set up so that each region has a designated location to get together; but, of course, you are free to visit other regions throughout the evening. The Socials promise to be exciting, so make it a point to stop by. This is also a good time to introduce yourself to your Regional Chapter Coordinator! COUNSELORS LUNCHEON Friday, Nov. 4, 12:15–1:30 p.m. In honor of you, the counselor, we cordially invite you to attend this free luncheon. Come and celebrate the achievements of Counselors across the nation, meet fellow Counselors, and build new relationships. This special recognition event is open to counselors only, however you may call Headquarters to request guest tickets at $45 each. Counselors are required to register for the luncheon using the Convo registration form. PASSPORT TO CHAPTER SUCCESS POSTER SESSION Friday, November 4 – 3:00–4:15 p.m. UPDATED for 2011! New this year is the opportunity to view presenting chapters’ tri-fold posters outside of the scheduled poster presentation time. So if you don’t have time to interact with all of the poster presenters, or if you miss the session to attend other workshops, you will still have the chance to gather new ideas from the posters. You will discover new ways to make your chapter a success. Pick up new ideas for effective chapter management, the 3 R’s (recruitment, retention, and renewals), and creative programming from 40–60 chapters, including ACE-winning chapters, which you can take back to your campus. • Click Here for Descriptions of Passport to Chapter Success Posters BUSINESS MEETING/DELEGATES Saturday, Nov. 5, 8:00–10:15 a.m. Place your mark on Kappa Delta Pi’s history! Each biennium, delegates at the Business Meeting consider proposed changes to the bylaws from which KDP functions worldwide. You are encouraged to be part of the process; be active in deciding the policies impacting the next 100 years of operation! Delegates who have been credentialed will have the opportunity to hear about updates concerning the Society and vote on pressing matters. Each chapter is allowed one delegate and two alternate delegates, and must complete the Delegate and Alternate Certification Form by September 30, 2011. To become credentialed, delegates must be registered for and participate in the online delegate training prior to attending Convo. The online training will take place on October 11th at 6:00 PM. Because delegates will be voting at the Business Meeting on proposed changes to the Constitution and Bylaws, be sure to review the changes ahead of the meeting, share them with other chapter members, and solicit their input. Not a delegate? Not a problem! If you are a member of Kappa Delta Pi, you have an invitation to join the Business Meeting and see firsthand what changes are going to be made and hear the updates about our great Society! Please be aware that only delegates will be able to vote on Society matters. Delegates will not be able to confer with other chapter members during the Business Meeting. Alternates and non-credentialed members must remain quiet in the general seating area, and no reentry to the meeting is permitted. Questions concerning delegates and the Business Meeting should be e-mailed to Patrick Griffith at patrick@kdp.org or call (317) 829-1528. |
