HOTEL INFORMATION
Convo registration does not include housing. You must make a hotel reservation directly with the JW Marriott at a special KDP conference rate.

The JW Marriott Indianapolis, which opened in February 2011, is the newest and largest JW Marriott in the world, located in the heart of a completely revitalized downtown. The 34-story hotel features two restaurants—the High Velocity (high-tech) sports bar and Osteria Pronto, a Tuscan bistro—as well as a state-of-the art fitness center and pool.

AIR TRAVEL DISCOUNTS & TRAVEL
Convo attendees can take advantage of Special Convo pricing from American Airlines
by using the 5% discount Promo Code 64H1BA. The promo code is valid during the conference and for an extended stay, but only for the following dates—Oct. 30–Nov. 8, 2011—for travel to Indianapolis, IN. The discount applies to American Airlines and American Eagle flights only.

For the best price, visit the American Airlines official Web site to book your reservation. At this time there is no ticketing fee for reservations made and ticketed online. Attendees can call the Meeting Services Desk at 800.433.1790 from anywhere in the United States and use the promo code to receive the discount. However, a separate ticketing charge of $20 applies for tickets purchased via the phone or $30 for tickets purchased at the airport. This amount is subject to change.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
You can travel between the airport and hotel in several ways:
The least expensive is IndyGo, which offers direct bus service to and from the JW Marriott for only $7 each way. The bus line accepts VISA, MasterCard, exact change, or tickets pre-purchased online.
Taxis are more expensive, but you might use this option if you’re sharing a ride. The taxi ride between the airport and the JW Marriott runs between $35 and $40. At the airport, taxi service is located outside the Baggage Claim.
Rental car companies are a short walk outside to the Ground Transportation in the first level of the parking garage across from Baggage Claim.

BUS AND CAR TRAVEL
Both the Amtrak Thruway and Greyhound bus lines service downtown Indianapolis. The station for both is located approximately 2 blocks west and one block south of the JW Marriott.Amtrak’s Cardinal/Hoosier State route connects Indianapolis to New York; Washington, DC; Cincinnati; and Chicago. Check Greyhound for additional travel options.

Mega Bus offers regional bus service to Indianapolis from Chicago, Cincinnati, and Columbus. From other parts of the Midwest, traveling by Mega Bus via Chicago may be an option. The Indianapolis station is five blocks east of the JW Marriott.

Driving to Indy? Indianapolis, Indiana—known as the Crossroads of America—has numerous interstates through the city for those attendees choosing to drive. Interstates 65, 69, 70, and 74 are all direct routes into Indianapolis. Download free maps of Indianapolis and Indiana.

PARKING
Parking is available at the JW Marriott in the attached garage for $27 a day for self-parking and $30 a day for valet parking. A must less expensive option is available at Victory Field, the baseball stadium just south of the hotel at 501 W. Maryland St. To park for $10 per day (24 hours), enter the west side of the stadium through the Suite and Administration Entrance and go to the second floor office Wednesday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5 p.m. EDT to buy a parking pass. Note that you MUST move your car by midnight on Saturday, November 5. For other, less expensive parking opportunities, consider other lots in the Southwest Quad of downtown Indianapolis.

ATTRACTIONS
Downtown attractions include:
Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians & Western Art Founded by collector Harrison Eiteljorg, this museum contains one of the world’s finest Native American and Western Art collections.
Indiana State Museum Constructed from limestone, sandstone, and other indigenous materials, the museum gives a hands-on, three-story overview of Indiana’s history—from its prehistory, to its 1816 statehood, to the present day. In addition to permanent and changing exhibits, the museum houses a six-story IMAX movie screen and two restaurants.
Circle Centre Mall anchored by Nordstrom on its southern end and Carson Pirie Scott to the north, downtown Indianapolis’s foremost shopping, dining, and entertainment complex offers more than 100 specialty stores, plus a vast array of dining options. The mall is conveniently connected to the JW Marriott via skywalks.
The Indianapolis Zoo one of the nation’s Top 10, according to TripAdvisor®, includes more than 350 different animal species on its nearly 70 acres. The zoo’s Oceans exhibit features the world’s largest shark touch tank; while the Dolphin Adventure offers the world’s first totally submerged dolphin viewing experience.

Children’s Museum The largest (and, according to Child magazine, the best) children’s museum in the world, the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is a huge, five-level playground where more than 1 million kids and parents each year come to enjoy (seriously—it’s that kind of museum) science, history, art, and culture.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum In 1911, the famous oval hosted its first 500-mile race, forever linking Indianapolis with the spirit of competition. Today, the Hall of Fame Museum houses one of the world’s largest collection of race cars (including more than 30 past winners of the Indianapolis 500), as well as the famous Borg-Warner Trophy. Bus tours around the oval are available year-round.
