| Kappa Delta Pi firmly believes that a teacher’s effectiveness
has the greatest impact on students’ achievement and learning. As
part of its efforts to provide members with the tools to be more
effective, Kappa Delta Pi offers up to 50 Classroom Teacher Grants
to pre-K–12 private, public, parochial, and homeschool teachers. These grants provide members who are practicing teachers with the funds to support specific programs or activities. Designed to engage students in the learning process through interactive activities allow teachers to purchase supplies or fund field trips for which school funds aren’t available. Interested teacher-members must submit a brief proposal outlining why the funds are needed and how the grant will be used. Proposals are reviewed by a team of esteemed practicing educators, and up to 25 grants of $125-$150 each are awarded. Once teachers have received a grant and the funds have been used, teachers must follow up with a written evaluation and photos showing student involvement. The deadline for 2009 proposals is December 1, 2009. Recipients will be announced, and funds will be distributed by February 15, 2010. Members interested in applying for a grant should complete the application form online. |
