Literacy Alive! Program
Literacy Alive! is Kappa Delta Pi’s signature service initiative that invites members to create programs and events in their communities that bring empowering literacy skills to their participants. The impact is extraordinary and continues to grow annually. Sponsorship from Tom’s of Maine and Target made it possible for Kappa Delta Pi to take this program to new heights. In 2013, more than 250 chapters submitted their intent to participate in Literacy Alive!, serving more than 29,051 people and collecting more than 14,476 books for distribution globally.
Kappa Delta Pi members are ready to continue making a positive impact in hundreds of communities through Literacy Alive! Now is the time to identify the right partner to help us reach more people than ever.

Classroom Teacher Grants
KDP believes that a teacher’s effectiveness has the greatest impact on students’ achievement and learning. As part of our efforts to provide members with tools to be more effective educators, KDP offers Classroom Teacher Grants. These grants provide members who are practicing teachers with funds to support specific programs or classroom supplies. Each fall, grants of $150 each are available to practicing Pre-K–12 educators. Partners are needed to grow the impact of this program by increasing the number of grant awards offered.
Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)
KDP’s ESD initiative seeks to integrate the principles, values, and practices of sustainable development into all aspects of education and learning, in order to address the social, economic, cultural, and environmental issues faced in the 21st century. Programming partnerships include the United Nations and the U.S. Partnership for Teaching for Sustainable Development. We are seeking collaborative partners to assist with project development and dissemination.
You are invited to take advantage of this special opportunity to become engaged with education’s leaders as they converge on Pittsburgh for professional development, networking, and celebration. KDP's 51st biennial conference provides a great occasion for you to network directly with potential customers and clients. Sponsorship, exhibitor, and advertising opportunities are available. KDP members are encouraged to pledge support to underwrite the travel for student members to attend Convo 2017. Assistance with registration and travel fees will result in new opportunities for professional development, networking, and KDP engagement for these young members.
