Here are some of the ways your membership continues to support and serve you in various stages of your professional life: |
| • | The KDP Web site keeps you in touch with the latest happenings in education and announces programs and scholarships that can support your continued education throughout your career. |
| • | Award-winning KDP publications—The KDP Record, the New Teacher Advocate, and The Educational Forum—offer detailed, practical, and scholarly information on hot topics in education. |
| • | The KDP Teacher of Honor program enables you to demonstrate your commitment to professional growth and to serving the educational community. |
| • | You can get involved with KDP at a regional or national level and make a difference in education! |
| • | Network in your community and continue your professional growth by establishing or participating in a KDP professional chapter or Chalk Talk Café. |
| • | If you have just joined the faculty at a higher education institution, consider serving as a counselor or co-counselor of your school’s KDP chapter as a great way to show your leadership skills and provide service to top students. |
| As your teaching experience grows, you can mentor and share expertise
with others by writing for one of our KDP publications; sharing teaching
tips, favorite resources, or links to research studies on KDP Online;
or presenting at a KDP conference. It’s true in every phase of your membership in KDP: the more you put into it, the more you gain in return. |

| The Power of KDP: One Member’s Story |
“As a graduate student, I found support from other
graduate students, post-graduate students, and professors during
an intense yearlong master’s degree course. KDP served as an excellent
networking tool that enabled me to get advice and encouragement from
other students and professionals involved in education. Being able
to bounce ideas off of fellow graduate students from all corners
of the country was a huge help in my quest for a degree. Once I graduated and finished my first year teaching, I was able to start writing a series of articles for New Teacher Advocate. It feels great to help other new teachers and have some of my own work published. I have had so many opportunities in my graduate and post-graduate years thanks to KDP.” Keon Ruiter 2nd Grade Teacher Ware, MA |
