Yet this Convo is more! Celebrating our 100 years and stepping into the next 100 make this biennial conference bigger and better than ever, with extras never before provided. Browse the Convo 2011 site and
read what '09 attendees had to say.

Your Connections

Undergraduates - Need tips for the Praxis?  It's one of the topics on the Discussion Board. A little help is always nice. Speaking of help, do you know that a mentor is important for undergrads too? Find out more by listening to the Mentoring Magic podcast.

Graduate Students - Are you seeking a university position? In this month's Grad Lounge column, Elizabeth A. Wilkins shares great suggestions for writing an application letter that tells what hiring administrators want to know.

Professionals - We know you work hard at meeting the needs of your students and school. Your job is important. So are your accomplishments. It's time to recognize them. Become a KDP Teacher of Honor.

Administrators - Are your faculty members worthy of Teacher of Honor? Recommend they apply and perhaps help with the minimal application fee. It could be a great morale booster! And for you, there are opportunities to nationally represent KDP as a state delegate. What's required? Learn more here
.

University Faculty - You also may apply to be a state delegate or KDP Teacher of Honor. Will you be at Convo in November? This centennial Convo brings you many choices - regional socials, networking lunch, and more than 30 workshops just for higher ed! Visit the Convo site and watch for upcoming details.

Retirees and Almost Retirees - You may not be teaching any more, yet still want to be involved in the field and keep up on education issues. Visit the Retiree Benefits page for ways to do just that.

Member Spotlight - Past and Present
At a luncheon March 25, Southeastern Community College Alumni Association posthumously honored its first black graduate, Rev. Dr. William Amos "Booker" Smith, Sr., who also was a member of KDP.  Read about his life.

Today members make strides in education, connecting across the globe.  Learn about or attend David Santandreu Calonge's Engage programme in Hong Kong.

You could be in the Spotlight too. Share your Success.

Every Gift Makes a Difference . . . Especially Yours
Members' support has immediate impact. Your contributions allowed the KDP Educational Foundation to award a record number of scholarships and Literacy Alive! and Classroom Teacher Grants. We could not do it without you! Thank you in advance for donating to the Annual Campaign by June 30.
