Sample Cover Letters

Your cover letter introduces you to a potential employer, so write one that makes a good impression. Put your best foot forward in a professional letter that shows your individuality and captures the employer’s attention.

Cover letters should be one page of approximately three paragraphs. Be sure to include:
the position for which you are applying;
how you discovered the opening;
your certification and/or anticipated graduation;
information unique to the school or district to which you are applying; and
résumé highlights that show special skills or experiences to spur potential employer’s interest and set you apart from other applicants.

Cover letters must have correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Remember, you are creating a first impression, so make it a good one!
