Individual Awards Regional Counselor Award |
It takes heart to be an effective counselor. Just ask the more than 500 KDP members filling this role! Being a good counselor is not a simple task, but the intrinsic reward, leadership opportunities and experience, as well as the potential for personal and professional growth inherent in the role sustain and motivate most counselors. Award History |
| The Regional Counselor Award recognizes a dedicated counselor from each territory who excels in his or her role for that region. The most outstanding KDP Counselor is recognized with the Lucinda Rose Award. |

This award is not an application award. The Regional Counselor Award is a recognition award determined by the criteria that follows, therefore no application is necessary. |

The counselor achieving this award is a leader who represents the mission and ideals of KDP and has achieved excellence in the role of counselor. To evaluate and determine the recipients of the Regional Counselor Award, the following criteria and perspectives are considered: |

Award Evaluation Process |
These awards are presented during Convo years. All counselors are evaluated for this award. The first round of criteria is very simple; it is based on time frames and whether each criterion was completed. Please review the Regional Counselor Rbric, which is used in the first round. After this evaluation, the top five counselors from each region move on to the second round. In the second round, current officers (spring term) are contacted to fill out the Officer Evaluation Form, which they e-mail to mcs@kdp.org. This information is reviewed carefully to determine which counselor from each region will be chosen to receive this award. |
