Program: Communication and Teambuilding
Level: Easy
Materials Needed:
• Open area
• Obstacles (chairs, tables, ropes, tires, etc.)
• Blindfolds
• Comfortable/relaxed clothing

How To:
• Reserve room or lawn.
• Create an obstacle course in that area. Do not make it too difficult!
• Explain to the officers that they will have to make their way through the obstacle course in pairs, but one officer will be blindfolded.
• It will be up to the officer who is not blindfolded to get both of them through the course.
• Send each pair through the obstacle course.
• After all pairs have gone through once, have them switch places. The person who could see before will now be blindfolded, and the previously blindfolded person will now be guiding their team.
• After all pairs have completed the course a second time, discuss the experience?how they felt, communicated, worked together, etc.

Add a Twist:
• If area is large enough for two pairs to go at once, time them with a stop watch.
• Challenge each pair to improve their time when members switch roles.
