How to:
1. Choose who will chair this event.
2. Set a deadline for the submission of lesson plans.
3. Contact printing/binding companies in the local area and explain that you want to bind a lesson plan book. Find out the best deal and confirm the agreement.
Be sure to look for:
Best price, fastest delivery, and highest quality
4. Inform all new initiates before to initiation they must submit their best lesson plan (that has been edited/graded by a professor) to the officers. The lesson plan and additional resources¬—worksheets or rubrics—cannot exceed four pages. Provide a standard format for the lesson plan.
(Hint: This is very easy to accomplish at the Orientation Meeting.)
5. Market the event on the bulletin board, Web site, flyers around campus, and newsletter. Explain that the books will be sold for $___ and the profits will be used for _____________(beginning a scholarship, sending members to Convocation, or giving a donation to a local shelter or needy family, etc.).
6. Take orders for the books. Be sure to collect payment up front.
7. After the deadline has passed send the collected lesson plans collected to the bindery-Indicate the number of books to be created. Remember to order extras for members who forgot to order and for the chapter archives.
8. Distribute the books to those who ordered them.
9. Announce the amount of money collected and how it will be used.
10. Request feedback about the event.
