Materials:
List of members in the chapter

How To:
1. Obtain your chapter’s list of members from your Chapter Resource Consultant at Society Headquarters.
2. Contact members to announce that the chapter is creating a member phone directory to stay in touch with one another. Request any updates to their contact information and permission to include the information in printed and possibly electronic formats.
3. Using the list of members, create a phone directory for members.
4. At a membership meeting, make an announcement about the phone directory, explaining how it will be used.
5. Encourage members to contact other members and invite them to the next membership meeting or chapter event.

Add a Twist:
Post the phone directory on the chapter’s Web site after obtaining permission from the members to do so.
Create a phone tree. Members would have a list of 2–3 other members they would contact to relay or obtain information. This is a good way to encourage community in the chapter.
