Program: Portfolio Night

Materials:

Moderator (usually an officer)
Event location
Education faculty member and/or local principal
At least 3 sample portfolios (elementary, middle school, and high school)

How to:
1. Choose who will chair this event and be the moderator during the event.
2. Contact a principal to explain what they look for in a portfolio.
3. Contact an education professor to explain how to put together a portfolio.
4. Confirm panelist attendance and contact information.
5. Reserve a date and room for the event.
6. Market the event/send invitations.
7. Hold registration for the event.
8. Complete the event. Be sure the professor and the principal explain what they are looking for in portfolios. End with a question and answer session.
9. Allow time attendees to look through the sample portfolios
10. Ask for feedback about the event.

Add a twist:

Have refreshments following the event.
Videotape event for documentation of chapter history and Society media coverage.
