Program: Read Aloud

Level: Easy
Materials:
• Quality literature (see list of suggestions on back of RIF Week brochure)
• Audience and location

How To:
1. Contact a school, library, or other organization that might benefit from adults reading aloud.
2. Encourage chapter members to sign up for reading times at a meeting or by e-mail. Be sure to provide members with specific times and directions.
3. On the designated day, members will be able to practice their skills by reading aloud to the audience. Readers should remember to use appropriate reader etiquette.
4. Report results to Headquarters for chapter recognition.

Add a Twist:
• Create an activity to compliment the story
• Engage audience in a discussion about the literature
• Send a thank you note to the school or library following the event
