Theme: Books for the Children

This chapter conducted three reading-related projects.
• Children’s books and other learning supplies were purchased and hand delivered to Scotlandville, LA where many children had been relocated after Hurricane Katrina.
• Chapter members continued their ongoing project with the local Shriner’s Hospital. Members visited and read to children in the hospital and put up a bulletin board.
• The chapter purchased books for students in an urban after-school reading and homework program. They ordered and delivered books that the children had requested.
