• Book Collections
  • During April, this chapter sponsored their fifth annual book drive. They sorted, labeled, and boxed the new and gently used books for distribution to the local Boys and Girls Club.
• “I Am A Reader” Baby Book Donation
  • Copies of Goodnight Moon were purchased and put in baby bags for new mothers at a local hospital.
• Creative Exploration with Books
  • Members worked with students from the Boys and Girls Club on scrapbooking, reading aloud with puppets, book illustrating, and book making.
  • During the first half of the month, activities focused on books. The second part of the month featured games from the national Junior Achievement Program.
  • Extra activities were added the last week. These included creative and cheer dance and a party.
  • The party featured a read aloud, popcorn, and lemonade.
  • Copies of The Dot by Peter Reynolds were given as door prizes.
  • Everyone received a pencil and notepad with the theme T.E.A.M. printed on it.
