• The focus of the carnival was children from underprivileged communities. Students from both private and public schools were invited, and children from infancy to middle school attended.
• Twelve different booths were set up where children could do crafts, learn stories from a professional puppeteer, listen to stories in a story area, play games for prizes, meet an author, and crochet.
• Local chapters of the IRA, SMART, and PTO had booths with information available for parents.
• Passports were given to the children when they arrived. When the passport was filled up (they received a stamp at each booth), they could turn it in for a new book to keep.
