• The first segment of this chapter’s program involved reading Plantzilla. The students were then asked questions and provided materials to make creative bookmarks resembling crazy plants found in the rainforest.
• The second segment of the program involved reading Little Gorilla and playing a memory game using content from the book. The story was re-read after the students realized they needed to listen for details to finish the game correctly.
• The final segment of the program was an Accelerated Reader event at the library’s computer lab. Parents were encouraged to read a story with their child and take an AR test.
• The school’s student council provided refreshments afterwards.
