Program: Seuss-abration!
Chapter: Beta Eta Chapter at Oklahoma Baptist University
Level: Advanced
Materials:
• Mall location
• Table
• Dr. Seuss books
• Dr. Seuss costumes
• Face paint and other craft supplies
• Advertisement

How To:
1. Contact mall (or other venue) to obtain permission to set up a reading and activity booth.
2. Design a number of activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss.
3. Encourage members to signup for the event by e-mail or at a chapter meeting.
4. Advertise the event by posting signs in store window and/or an ad in a local newspaper.
5. On the day of the event, interact with children and parents to make crafts (bookmarks, journals), paint faces, and read books.

Add a Twist:
• Apply for a RIF Week grant
• Celebrate Dr. Seuss’s birthday
• Kick off Read Across America
• Celebrate another favorite children’s author or literature series
• Set out a jar for donations 
• Contact a local TV news crew to cover the event
