http://www.kdp.org/literacyalive/index.php So to LIVE, So to TEACH, So to SERVE! That is exactly what 162 institutional chapters, 1 professional chapter, and 1 individual member are doing through their Literacy Alive! projects for the 2011-2012 academic year! This is the best participation in KDP's signature initiative since its founding in 1993! These 164 Literacy Alive! events will have phenomenal impact in the community. Thank you to all the chapters and members taking part in Literacy Alive! this year!

Reminders from Headquarters -

Happy Holidays from your Chapter Services Staff! KDP International Headquarters will be closed December 23, 26, and 30, as well as Monday, January 2, 2012. KDP staff members also may be taking additional days off during the holiday period. If you plan to contact a staff member during this time, please check in with him or her to determine availability.

It's a new biennium for KDP, and that means every chapter must submit a signed Chapter Model Agreement! You can find the agreement and model descriptions in the manage your chapter section of KDP Online.

The Spring Mailing, including rebates, will be sent out in mid-January. Please keep an eye out for important updates and information. To receive a rebate, your 2010-2011 Annual Financial Report must be submitted and closed. Contact us with any questions.

Best and BrightestWest Best and Brightest - Camden County College's Alpha Alpha Psi Chapter is preparing for one of its signature events-Lunch with Santa. This event not only benefits Camden (NJ) community children, but also serves as a collaborative and transitional project for current and incoming chapter officers. Both sets of officers plan together and host this amazing event. A week before Lunch with Santa, all members get together for a fun "wrapping party," complete with Christmas music and food. At that time, each member adopts a child attending the event. At the end of Lunch with Santa, the children take home the wrapped presents to open on Christmas Day with their families.

Life in KDP After Graduation - Do you have members graduating in December? Let them know that their KDP membership doesn't have to end at graduation! KDP graduates who remain connected with the Society enjoy all sorts of advantages.

The Society offers graduates the opportunity to meet other educators and to create a rich and diverse professional community with others who demonstrate high ideals and a commitment to education. Learn more about the importance of retaining membership beyond graduation.

"Life in KDP after graduation means networking with peers and professionals in my field, job opportunities, support through the organization and other educators after graduation and entering the classroom, receiving the most current issues and facts in education through KDP's publications and website, support and mentoring from other members and KDP staff, support that promotes teacher retention-a KDP support system and family for life."
