New National Leadership Conference - April 9-10 at Malone University
Our goal is to have 250 students attend! Registration is only $35/person until March 15. The fee increases to $45/person between March 16 - April 2. The fee includes conference materials, snacks on Friday, breakfast/lunch on Saturday, and an event favor. A schedule and travel/lodging information are available online.
Additional fall 2010 sites for the northeast, south and west regions will be announced later this spring.

Founder's Day - March 8, 2010
Finalize your plans for a special celebration to commemorate KDP's beginnings and the Kick-Off to the Centennial Celebration. Download the Planning Guide for ideas and planning checklists. Don't forget to show your KDP pride on by wearing your badge, letters or colors. Share photos of your chapter's event or activities or a story of what you planned. They will be posted on the soon-to-be launched Centennial Web site

2009-2010 Kappa Delta Pi/Association of Teacher Educators:
National Student Teacher/Intern of the Year Award
The award will recognize a student who has demonstrated exemplary classroom management skills, knowledge of current educational issues and practices, and reflective analysis of their own teaching and learning process. The recipient will receive a $900 award. The recipient, nominating sponsor, and education program will receive national recognition.

 eligibility criteria, guidelines, and an application. Applications are due May 7, 2010.

Attention professors, teacher certification candidates, and recently certified educators!
Pearson Education seeks participants for a pilot test of a new certification program. Learn more about the opportunities and rewards for participants and faculty members who recommend groups of students. In addition to incentive rewards for both participants and those who recommend groups of students, participants can gain valuable experience in testing for certification.

Abbey Williams, President of the chapter at Valdosta State, won this month's Leader prize! Abbey will receive a one-year society membership to KDP!
