Advocacy for Child Wellness in High-Poverty Environments
Child wellness must be understood holistically so that youth from high-poverty environments can succeed in school and in life. Teachers who foster advocacy in themselves are able to teach students to take ownership of their own well-being. Such advocacy can enrich the classroom curriculum and mitigate the negative effects of disadvantaged environments and segregated educational systems.
