Hello everyone,

My name is Esperanza Jones, and I am currently en route to possibly teaching elementary and special education. Although my prior experience is in music, music education will still be an option when I finish this master's. I wanted to create this thread so that everyone can find others who are maybe going to teach the same subject, so with that being said, any special education teachers or future special education teachers here?

I've been a special education teacher for all of my career. I spent 15 years in the separate classroom setting teaching students with the most significant cognitive disabilities, and now I am the Itinerant Teacher for the Deaf-Hard of Hearing. I also supervise and facilitate the state alternate assessment program for our district providing training and support to teachers working with students learning on alternate academic achievement standards.
