About KDP’s New Development Director

Barbara W. Richardson recently joined the staff of Kappa Delta Pi’s Educational Foundation. She brings to the position an extensive background in development, including annual and campaign fund-raising, scholarship initiatives, and planned giving programs. Underpinning her career in the nonprofit arena is her focus on education. From founding the Beaver Valley Montessori School (Beaver, PA) in 1990 to her recent position as Deputy Director for the Simon Youth Foundation (Indianapolis), Barbara has been able to follow something in which she believes. She is excited to be able to marry her personal “mission of an educator” and her expertise as Development Director here at KDP.

“We [members and KDP staff] have the power collectively to make a huge impact,” Barbara said about supporting educators. It is Barbara’s mission to be a catalyst in this effort for KDP and its membership.
On the home front, Barbara lives in Indianapolis with her husband, Joe, and they have two children in college, Josh and Alina.
