Achieving Chapter Excellence

“Whoever I am, or whatever I am doing, some kind of excellence is within my reach.”
- John W. Gardner

Many chapters have exceptional programming. Others have fantastic leaders. Still others have active and highly involved members. It takes a very special chapter to excel at all three. For these particular chapters, KDP offers the opportunity to earn recognition through the Achieving Chapter Excellence Award, or the ACE. The highest scoring of all entries is named the Dr. Florence B. Stratemeyer Award for Chapter Excellence
Award History
Established in 1995, the Achieving Chapter Excellence Award (ACE) Awards Program recognizes Kappa Delta Pi chapters that exhibit outstanding programming in support of the Society’s mission and strategic goals. Since its inception, chapters across the country have aspired to offer creative, purposeful programming and a full slate of chapter activities with the hope of earning this coveted award.
Award Information
ACE is an application award. Chapters must submit an online portfolio highlighting two years of chapter activities in these five areas:
Administrative Qualification
Chapter Business meetings
Membership and Retention
Leadership Development
Chapter Programming
Award Qualifications
Chapters with Standard or Advanced Model Agreements may apply for the ACE Award.

How does a chapter apply?

The ACE application will be an online process. Details will be available in 2012.
Award Evaluation Process
All applications must be submitted on or before June 1, 2013. No exceptions. A panel of outside judges ensures that all requirements met the deadline. For each outcome category, the judges look for the degree of member participation in chapter activities and the impact each program had on the School of Education, the chapter and its members, the Society overall, the institution, and/or the community-at-large. Evidence of each activity must be shown through the narrative and pictures accompanying each section.
