Classroom Teacher Grants

Classroom Teacher Grants

KDP’s mission is to inspire and equip future and new teachers to thrive. Thanks to the generosity of Dr. Judith F. Evans and Mr. Ralph M. Evans, we offer financial support through Classroom Teacher Grants. This November, 50 grants of $150 each will be available to practicing Pre-K–12 teachers and student teachers through the Classroom Teacher Grants. Members will be invited to submit compelling applications for their creative, engaging, and impactful projects. Past recipients have established classroom libraries, purchased much-needed supplies, created makerspaces, incorporated yoga and mindfulness into learning, funded field trips and guest speakers, and utilized new technologies, among other endeavors.

In addition to our Classroom Teacher Grants, we are excited to offer First Year Teacher Grants for the second year! Funded by generous donors, chapters, and the KDP store, this program will support new teachers who are entering the classroom for their first year of teaching in the 2021–2022 school year. We will award 30 grants of $150 each through the First Year Teacher Grant program.

Through a streamlined process, all applicants will apply using the same online application in your KDP account. The top 50 applicants will be awarded a Classroom Teacher Grant. The following 30 top applicants, who are first-year teachers, will be awarded a First Year Teacher Grant. Applicants may receive only one grant.

Grants are open to active paid members who are practicing Pre-K–12 teachers during the 2021–2022 school year. Those who are student teaching this school year also may apply. Eligible members may submit only one grant application; multiple submissions from a member will not be considered.

Applications will be accepted through the online grant portal in your KDP account. Click here for a copy of the grant portal questions and rubric. It is strongly encouraged that you save your answers in a document. No materials will be accepted via fax, email, or postal mail.

The online application portal is now open and will close at 11:59 p.m. EST on November 30, 2021.

Active paid membership is required to apply. Applications will be due on November 30 and recipients will be announced in January. Grant money will be paid directly to the recipient. Recipients are required to submit a survey and photos to share the impact of the grant funds.
