Classroom Teacher Grants
Kappa Delta Pi’s mission is to prepare all learners for future challenges and, as an organization, we believe that a teacher’s effectiveness has the greatest impact on students’ achievement and learning. To create a better future through quality learning for all, KDP strives to retain teachers in the profession through a variety of programs—including financial assistance.
With the generous support of Dr. Judith F. Evans and Mr. Ralph M. Evans, the Society offers Classroom Teacher Grants. These grants provide members who are practicing teachers with funds to support specific programs or to purchase classroom supplies—tools to help them to be more effective educators.
This fall, 50 grants of $150 each will be available to practicing Pre-K–12 educators. Members are invited to submit applications for their creative, engaging, and impactful projects. Past recipients have established classroom libraries, purchased much-needed supplies, created makerspaces, incorporated yoga and mindfulness into learning, funded field trips and guest speakers, and utilized new technologies, among other endeavors.
Grants are open to active members only. Members may submit a grant application for each of their different projects, but no more than one proposal per project will be considered. Applications will be accepted through our online grant portal, which is now open. Click here for a copy of the grant portal questions. It is strongly encouraged that you save your answers in a document. No materials will be accepted via fax, email, or postal mail.
The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on October 31, 2019.
Classroom Teacher Grant recipients will be announced on December 20. Grant money will be awarded by check made payable to the recipient following the announcement. Recipients are required to submit a survey to share the impact of the grant funds. If you have questions, please contact Samantha Tarlton at (317) 829-1556 or Samantha@kdp.org.
