Convo is upon us once again! I look forward to meeting those of you who will be attending our biennial conference in Pittsburgh. If you have any last-second questions before the event, don’t hesitate to reach out. Also, be advised that many of our staff will be in Pittsburgh for the event, and email communication may be limited during that time.
Initiation Report
Submit Your Chapter’s Initiation Report Online
Please remember to complete and submit an Initiation Report after your chapter’s initiation. In order for your new members to begin receiving benefits, the chapter must approve new members in the “Chapter Management” portal of MyKDP and complete the Initiation Report. It is best to complete this within 2 weeks of the initiation ceremony, as this report helps us greatly as we confirm new members. You can find the Initiation Report here!
Officer Spotlight
Officer Spotlight
Meet our first highlighted Chapter Officer! Chandler Alder, President of Psi Sigma at Liberty University, has built upon the legacy of past officers in order to create a meaningful experience for his chapter members this year.
Advocacy Officer Position
Advocacy Officer Position
There is a new chapter officer position available! Members of the Public Policy Committee worked to create a new officer position called the Chapter Advocacy Officer. This role will help teach chapter members about education-related policy, show members how to advocate for the profession, and prepare members to lead through advocacy as they enter their classrooms. Learn more about this role today!
Keep Your Officers Active
Keep Your Officers Active
Per KDP bylaws, “each chapter shall elect officers who are active members of both the Society and the local chapter.” Remember to renew your Society dues ($47 annually) as well as your chapter dues each year to remain active and continue receiving all of your valuable KDP benefits.

Stay in-the-know about KDP Convo news, events, speakers, and (most importantly) fun by following our conference hashtag, #KDPConvo17 on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram! If you are headed to Convo, be sure to download the official app powered by CrowdCompass. This app will give you access to speaker info, allow you to set your personal agenda, and send you Convo alerts (like KDP Store discounts and contest winners).
Webinar Schedule
There will be a brief hiatus of live KDP Webinars prior to and after the KDP Convocation. Live KDP Webinars will return on November 28. Be sure to visit the KDP Resources Catalog to access hundreds of recorded webinars—many that are perfectly pre-packaged with discussion guides ready to be used as professional development programming for your chapter!
