Chapter Dues Remittance

How and When KDP National Remits Chapter Dues (If You Choose for Us to Collect Them)

All members must pay National Dues online directly to the national office each year to remain an active member of KDP. Each Chapter has the option to ask the national office to collect chapter dues on top of the national dues, which will be reimbursed to the chapter at a later dateThese dues are determined by the chapter and paid for by new and/or renewing members when they pay the required KDP National dues.

  1. NEW member chapter dues (most collect between $15-$30 depending on if they are providing cords at graduation).

  1. RENEWING member chapter dues (usually a lower amount if they collect them at all).

New in 2025: The minimum we will collect is $10, and the maximum is $65.

The following explains when the different types of CHAPTER dues are remitted to you if you choose to have us collect them:

New Member Chapter Dues

The National office will typically distribute new member chapter dues 6 weeks following the end of the month in which members are approved (e.g., your chapter will receive the funds by mid-June for members approved in April.) If your chapter’s recruitment spans more than 1 month, your funds will be issued at different timesYou will receive an email when the National Office remits funds to your chapter.

If possible, the preferred way to remit chapter dues to your chapter is via direct deposit/ACH.  If you need help setting up a bank account, our partners at Signature Federal Credit Union can easily help. Once ACH is established, KDP National will deposit these owed funds into your account no matter the amount

If you aren’t able to set up ACH, The National Office can remit the funds in two ways:

  1. An e-certificate for the KDP Store (to purchase certificates/cords/etc.)

  1. We will send a check for owed funds once the chapter’s balance reaches $100 in collected new member dues (or at 90 days, whichever comes first)

*Helpful tip: If a new member’s name is in the “Pending Applications” area of MyKDP, then they have paid both their national and chapter dues.

Renewing Member Chapter Dues

Your chapter may choose to ask the National Office to collect chapter dues when members renew their membership. For chapters who have opted into this program, existing members have the option to pay these at the time of their national renewal transaction online. Because members renew at various points throughout the year, the amounts collected are often inconsistent from semester to semester and year to yearOnly two times a year (mid-fall & mid-spring), the National Office will send chapters these collected funds.

Prior to sending out this amount, the KDP National Office reaches out to chapter leaders asking if they would like to make an optional donation to KDP’s Chapter Challenge fund to earn a plaque and continue to support KDP’s mission.

If you choose not to donate these funds to Chapter Challenge, you have the following options:

  • If your chapter has established direct deposit (ACH), then KDP National will deposit these owed funds into your account.

  • The National Office will send a check for owed funds to chapters without a direct deposit account if the balance is at least $50 in collected renewal fees (or after 90 days, whichever comes first)

What can I do with funds below the minimum amount for a check? The National Office offers two options for chapters who do not meet the minimum requirements to receive a check.

  • Allow the amount to accumulate to the minimum necessary or for 90 days (whichever comes first)

  • Request to utilize the funds toward a KDP Store order.

How do I set up ACH/Direct Deposit payment instead of a check? Fill out the Direct Deposit Request Form to get started! This works for both new and renewing member dues.

How can I start or stop KDP collecting chapter dues? The easiest way is to send an email to your manager of member experience (or if you don’t know who that is email MET@KDP.org). The Member Experience Team will let you know of any additional information necessary to complete either process.
