    Title of the Project: Casual Comparative Study of Content Area Professors' Perception of the Use of Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education

    Key Information about the Research Study

    You are invited to participate in a research study. To participate, you must be at least 18 years of age, currently employed full-time or adjunct professors affiliated with a mathematics, science, English, or social sciences department at a U.S. public high education institution.

    Things you should know:

    · The purpose of the study is to examine professors' acceptance of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in higher education. If you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete an anonymous online survey. This will take approximately 10–15 minutes.

    · Participants should not expect a direct benefit from participating in this study.

    · Taking part in this research project is voluntary. You do not have to participate, and you can stop at any time.

    Please read this entire form and ask questions before deciding whether to participate in this research.

    What is the study about, and why is it being done?

    The purpose of this study is to examine professors' attitudes toward generative AI technologies and determine whether differences in acceptance exist across academic departments.

    What will happen if you take part in this study?

    If you agree to be in this study, you will be asked to do the following:

    Complete an anonymous online survey examining perceptions of generative AI, including perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and overall acceptance (10–15 minutes).

    How could you or others benefit from this study?

    Participants should not expect a direct benefit from participating in this study. Benefits to society include contributing to research on technology adoption in higher education and improving understanding of how generative AI tools are perceived by faculty across academic disciplines.
