Meet Mr. Jason Prideaux, a professor at Southern Nazarene University, KDP educator member, and dedicated member of KDP’s Finance & Audit Committee. With more than 20 years of experience in accounting, finance, and executive leadership, Mr. Prideaux brings a thoughtful, real-world perspective to his work as an educator.
In the classroom, Mr. Prideaux focuses on helping students understand how what they are learning connects to the world beyond the course itself. He believes education should build curiosity, critical thinking, confidence, and the ability to continue learning long after graduation.
“I enjoy connecting theory with real-world situations and helping students understand not only what they are learning, but why it matters.”
For Mr. Prideaux, teaching is also a way to share the lessons and experiences he has gained throughout his professional career.
“Teaching allows me to take the experiences and lessons I have gained throughout my professional career and invest them in the next generation.”
That commitment to learning continues through Mr. Prideaux’s doctoral work. He is currently completing his Ph.D. in Education at Liberty University, where his research examines professors’ perceptions of artificial intelligence in higher education.
His research reflects his belief that educators must continue learning alongside their students, especially as technology changes the way people teach, work, and communicate.
“Technology will continue to change how we teach and learn, but the ability of an educator to inspire curiosity, encourage discovery, and believe in a student’s potential remains incredibly powerful.”

Mr. Prideaux also brings his professional expertise to his service with KDP. As a member of the KDP Finance & Audit Committee, he contributes his background in finance and leadership while staying closely connected to the education community.

Outside of the classroom and his professional responsibilities, Mr. Prideaux enjoys spending time with his family, traveling, attending sporting events, and staying involved in his community. Whether he is teaching, conducting research, serving KDP, or supporting his family, Mr. Prideaux continues to center his work around learning, service, and creating opportunities for others to grow.
