Meet Ms. Nohora Liliana Murcia, an elementary dual language teacher in West Palm Beach, Florida, who is passionate about helping every student feel seen, valued, and confident in the classroom.

As a bilingual educator, Ms. Murcia believes her students bring much more than academic skills with them each day. “They bring their languages, cultures, experiences, and unique ways of seeing the world.” She works to create a classroom where those differences are celebrated and where students know their voices matter.

For Ms. Murcia, success is about more than grades or test scores. “Success in the classroom is not only about academic achievement. It is also about creating a safe place where students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and believing in themselves.”

That sense of belonging is also what she values about being part of KDP. “Teaching can sometimes feel challenging and overwhelming, but being part of a community of educators who share the same passion makes me feel supported and inspired.” KDP encourages her to continue learning and growing so she can better connect with her students and become the kind of teacher who reminds them that they belong.

Her students are also a constant source of inspiration. “I love watching my students grow, become more confident, and realize that they are capable of more than they thought.” As a bilingual teacher, she especially enjoys seeing students connect with language and recognize that “speaking more than one language is a strength.”

Even on the difficult days, it is often the smallest classroom moments that keep her going. “A student says something funny, shares an accomplishment, or simply tells me they enjoyed the lesson, and I remember exactly why I chose this profession. Those moments keep me going and remind me that what I do matters.”

Outside the classroom, Ms. Murcia enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, discovering new places and foods, watching movies, listening to music, and working on creative projects. She also values the simple moments that help her recharge so she can return to her students with renewed energy and patience.
